Because of the uncertainty affecting events this summer, Run Clark Lake is cancelled. Competitions elsewhere have taken similar steps. Originally scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2020, it joins Raft-O-Rama, Great American Crab Races and perhaps some other events at the lake in taking a year off. Race Director Pat Dwyer says “Run Clark Lake will be back in full force in 2021.”
The Run draws almost a thousand participants not only from this area, but other states. Along with avid runners of all levels, it also attracts top athletes which adds to the excitement. This would have been the 45th running of Run Clark Lake. The races are the 12K and 5K run, 5K walk, and Kid’s 3/4K run.

Run Clark Lake has a storied history at Clark Lake. It is also a reliable fundraiser that supports the Clark Lake Spirit Trail, and not in a small way. The Run, in its genesis, helped pay off the debt incurred in publishing the book about lake history, Clark Lake, Images of a Michigan Tradition.
Run Clark Lake truly represents the Clark Lake Spirit. It is one more example of people in this community coming together to make things happen to benefit Clark Lake. Like other lake organizations, Run Clark Lake is the effort of volunteers who are not compensated. It would be hard to calculate the number of hours Pat and his team put into this effort. All of them deserve our thanks. Click to review Run Clark Lake 2019.
