There are sure signs of summer’s end and the arrival of fall–like this morning’s crisp and cool dawn (Sunday, 9/11/16). Clark Lakers either plan or take in the dock, store boats, and try to avoid being carpet-bombed by acorns. The promise of summer, however, is that it will return. And so it is with Raft-O-Rama. The R-O-R Committee met last night at the Karkheck’s to review this summer’s event and begin to plan 2017. A couple dozen ideas for themes emerged–from suggestions given by people who attended the event and from those on the committee. This starts the process, and sometime in December or January, this important decision will be made.
The work of the committee extends beyond the parade of rafts. Among the activities are offering Clark Lake goodies available to wear or keep, and creating and selling luminaries for placing along the shoreline on July 4th.
Reviewing Raft-O-Rama 2016 brightens the spirit, especially the Clark Lake Spirit. Click here to relive the fun. Below, the luminaries at dusk.
