According to the Jackson County Department of Transportation (JCDOT), “asphalt paving work…is anticipated to begin on or after Monday, October 3rd.”  Notice came in the form of a door hanger to residents along the partially paved area of Eagle Point Drive.

JCDOT expects the paving will take place for “1 to 2 days as weather and scheduling allow.”  Laying the first application of asphalt occurred on June 28th and June 29th.

In July, a mesh was laid along the south (Marina) side.

Rocks were then placed over it.

The intent was to allow rainwater to flow toward French drains located on the Marina lawn (close to the intersection of Eagle Point Road and Eagle Point Drive).

Work of a much larger scale continues on I-94 near Jackson.  Here’s an update.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) reported that Elm Road over I-94, and Seymour Road approaching Elm Road should now be open.  The Elm Road ramp to westbound I-94 will reopen on Tuesday, October 4.  Rosehill Road is closed at Elm Road, and is expected to reopen October 31.

The westbound I-94 ramp to northbound US-127/M-50 will reopen on Tuesday, October 4.

Two ramps will close for rebuilding from Tuesday, October 4 to Tuesday, October 25:  the westbound I-94 ramp to southbound US-127/M-50 (West Avenue) and the northbound US 127/M-50 (West Avenue) exit ramp to Springport Road.
