Originally set for this Saturday (3/23), the annual Spirit Trail Clean Up has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 30, at 9 am.

All at the lake are invited to pitch in to clear away what winter has left behind.  Volunteers will meet at the Trail head in the County Park at the Tom Collins marker.  Dan Omo directs the activity and will point to locations around the lake where your help is needed.  Bring rakes, shovels, and be ready for action.  Afterwards, you’ll feel great. Why pay a health club for exercise when you can get it this way for free?

The Spirit Trail is a Clark Lake treasure.  From 1996 to today, improvements have elevated it to ensure that it’s an amenity that all can enjoy.  Cyclists, runners and walkers are able to circle the lake, something difficult to do before the Trail.  Last season, two sections were repaved – through the County Park and the former Cincinnati Northern Railroad bed that parallels Hyde Road.  Improvements like these are costly.

Through the years, expenses for third-party contractors have been covered through donations.  One source is the Welcome to Clark Lake Sign.  One-thousand dollars has been donated for each of the cast bronze plaques of names on the Trail side of the Sign.  Another help to the cause are donations received for the Spirit Trail benches placed within reach of the path around the lake.  The Clark Lake Spirit Foundation receives tax-advantaged donations at anytime.  Credit card donations can be made by clicking here.
