After long stretches of summer-like weather, fall suddenly announced itself clearly. Yesterday (Friday 10/8/16) started out with calm and poise, reflected on the lake’s surface. Ann Swain was out in her kayak and captured some fall color contrasted with Clark Lake’s placid waters.
Then around 4 pm, clouds moved in and the wind picked up from the west-northwest. Last night, temperatures dropped to the 40s. Today the sun shone brightly, highlighting whitecaps that could be seen from many vantage points around the lake. A day not so hospitable to kayakers–or those taking in boats and docks.
