Clark Lake sewer rates go up again. Columbia Township trustees voted tonight to pass along a rate hike as required by Leoni Township. Leoni Township operates the sewage treatment plant for several townships, including Columbia. The new quarterly rate as of April 1st will be $246.

Clark Lake’s repair and replacement costs are higher. The grinder pumps at Clark Lake are 27 years old. After multiple rebuilds, they were no longer reliable. So, a schedule to replace them was created, increasing costs.

Any board members want to clarify why Clark Lake’s ‘Repair and Replacement’ number is so much higher than everyone else?
