Raft-O-Rama Committee

For 60 years Raft-O-Rama and the Clark Lake Lions’ Chicken Broil has been the most anticipated event of the summer; an opportunity for family and friends to gather together, some assembling rafts, others enjoying the sights, the sounds and the good fellowship that this event brings year after year.

Unfortunately, as you are all aware, this year the situation is tragically different.  Our state and nation has been effectively shut down for the past two months due to the COVID-19 virus.  While there is a tentative schedule to start to open things up in the coming weeks, we still don’t have a firm timetable and even then, the health risk will still be with us.  Many events in Jackson County have already been canceled up through August.

The last thing that anyone on your Raft-O-Rama Committee wants is to hold an event that isn’t up to our usual standards, due to lack of participation, attendance because of health concerns, or if someone who attends gets sick.  Therefore, we have made the regrettable (but we believe correct) decision to postpone Raft-O-Rama’s 60th anniversary until 2021.  We appreciate and look forward to the continued support from the Clark Lake community for this great event.
