Power remains out for much of Clark Lake.  The outage map, as of 9 am Tuesday, does not appear to be entirely accurate.  Areas along Ocean Beach and Hyde Roads have power.

The storm that blew through Clark Lake yesterday afternoon also inflicted damage and took out power in other parts of Michigan.  Consumers Energy reported 160,000 customers lost power.  As of 6 am, they had restored power to 40,000 of them.  At 9 am today (Tuesday), Consumers predicted restoration by 11:30 pm at Clark Lake.  In the past, those prediction proved to be way off.  Power would come back sooner, or much later, than their estimate.

To add to the inconvenience, internet and cable went down late in the afternoon and early evening yesterday, but returned later.  It dropped again early this morning, about 7 am.  Shortly after 10 am, it was working again.

The storm hit Clark Lake hard.  High winds took down major tree branches.  The blast scattered lawn chairs and kayaks.  Bill Leutz snapped this photo of a car canopy overturned on Eagle Point Drive.  A boat ride around the lake at 10 am did not reveal major damage.  It appeared that several canopies were ripped, but it was hard to know if that was the result of the storm.

This photo was taken about 7 pm yesterday along Eagle Point Road, looking north from Jefferson.
