Life is full of unexpected events. Yesterday (Tues 10/4), a car jumped the curb at the Clark Lake post office. You can see the result of the incident.
Rust at the base of the pole is apparent, and that probably made the pole more vulnerable to the impact.
The post office has filed for a replacement. Below is the flag on a better day (photo from September 14, 2018).
