There was really no way of knowing if a lone muskrat was searching for a mate on the ice today (Saturday, 2/20).  But somehow Captain and Tenille and one of the oddest songs in pop music history comes to mind.

Ann Swain and Bonnie VanWagnen observed the Clark Lake muskrat going under the ice, then climbing up and crawling on the ice.  According to Ann, it was “green ice” and safe only for a muskrat.
