Long time Clark Lake resident Meredith Szostek has left us. Meredith passed way late yesterday (Thursday) evening. Meredith is pictured third from the right in this photo from February 2020. The occasion was the women’s shuffleboard league contest at the Beach Bar.
In January, Meredith’s house burned. With the help of a neighbor she was able to escape, but the house was a total loss. Since then, the remains of the burned structure were removed, and a new house in the same location is under construction. Sadly, Meredith will never return to where she had been since 1973. In this video, her son explains what happened with the fire and the rebuilding. The video was recorded in May on the day the old structure was razed. It is included because it helps tell the story of her last year with us.
Meredith was active in all things Clark Lake. That included Fleet 58, the Spirit Trail, and the Pinesliders.
Meredith will certainly be missed. She was an exceptional woman and a true Clark Laker. So sad that she did not see her home rebuilt. Go in peace Meredith!
