On the last Friday in September, Clark Lake was at its best. Sunny skies, friendly breeze, low humidity, and the temperature was just right. Rafts and boats dotted the lake. No doubt weighing on the minds of some was this—it could be the last warm weather Friday of the season. At this point, you never know. An enticing forecast earlier in the week can change abruptly.
A trip around the lake revealed that fall is upon us—a number of docks were pulled in half way or all the way. Missing boats have already migrated to their winter hiding place. In this slide show, take a look at what happened Friday, including some new construction, preparation for Alex and Madison’s wedding, sitting on the shore enjoying the lake, boaters making the best of the day, and a plant trying to hold onto its summer blooms.
Soothing sunsets continue unabated at Clark Lake, even as they set farther to the south each evening.

From our daughter in Okemos Michelle Zimmerman: that’s a great picture! and I think it answers the question for everyone around clarklake… no, once the weather gets nice and until it gets cold again in the fall, Flip Reynolds never wears a shirt! ????
