Supporting the Clark Lake Spirit Trail can be fun. Just asked those attending the Ladies Night Out Wine Tasting affair at the Eagle’s Nest last evening (Thurs 6/7). Chair of the event, Jaimie Thomson explains in this 60 second video.
Putting together this annual event takes the work of volunteers. Look for Jaimie Thomson, Elizabeth Baker, Tricia Boyers and Annette Fink among the many smiling faces in the slide show.
The Clark Lake Spirit Trail is a 7.3 mile path the enables walkers, runners and cyclists to circle the lake. It is maintained by volunteers as you can see in video recorded this spring.
One of the highlights on the Trail is the Welcome to Clark Lake Sign. The mosaic facing the road displays detail that helps tell Clark Lake’s story.
On the Trail side are bronze plaques with the names of individuals and families who have a strong connection to Clark Lake. The Sign is also a fundraiser with each plaque representing a $1000 donation or more to the Trail. For more information about the plaques, contact ClarkLakeSpirit@gmail.com.
Most maintenance and improvements to the Trail are accomplished by unpaid volunteers. Where construction is involved, third parties are contracted. The path extension near the sign is an example. The sign was designed by Annette Fink who also engaged the support of many Clark Lakers.
Below is a map illustrating the Clark Lake Spirit Trail.
Thank you Clark Lake Spirit for your continued support of all things Clark Lake. We have so many great events and projects that only succeed because of you all. It gives me great pleasure to have been a part of many of the projects that make Clark Lake the awesome place we call home. My life has been so enriched by living here and having you all my friends and neighbors and coworkers. The Ladies Wine tasting is just a small example of how great the area has become!!
Love Clark Lake
