Kids gear up for this event each year. They will be ready for action on Saturday, July 30. Raft-O-Rama and the Clark Lake Yacht Club combine efforts to put it on. As the name Triathlon suggests, it consists of three events—swim, bike, and run. The swim challenges the competitors to cross 200 feet between two Yacht Club docks. The bike ride, 3/4 mile; and the run, 1/4 mile, take place on the Yacht Club grounds and nearby Spirit Trail. Competitors are separated by age—9 and under, and 10-13. This year, the kayak competition for kids and adults will be reintroduced after several years off. Come back to this website for details as the date approaches.
Registration starts at 9 am, and the action begins at 10 am. All participants must have a life jacket for the swim and a helmet for the biking.
This video is intended for anyone who would like to see what happened at the event, and especially for parents or grandparents who think they have future competitors among them. This is a true Clark Lake event, and nowhere is there more Clark Lake Spirit than you will see in this video. Be sure to hear what Terry Scott has to say near the end.
The parents connect to the competitive fun as well. Here they are showing their exuberance.
Then there is the crew who organize the event and also have fun of their own.
