As reported yesterday afternoon on this website, traffic was blocked on Jefferson Road, just east of the Eagle Point intersection because of a three car collision.  According to Columbia Township Police, one driver was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance for treatment of minor injuries.

Township police describe how three Fords collided on this busy road:

“The accident involved a black F250 pickup, blue Ford Focus and a beige F150. The blue Focus as well as the Black F250 were traveling east bound and the F250 was behind the Focus. The Focus slowed down to turn left into the driveway of her residence using her turn signal when the F250 rear-ended her, causing her to be pushed into the west bound lane. The beige F150 traveling west bound then struck the blue Focus head on due to not having time to react. The driver of the blue Focus had a minor leg injury and was transported to Henry Ford Allegiance. The other two drivers were uninjured. The driver of the black F250 was cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance.”

Because traffic was blocked for an extended period, other travelers detoured by using Eagle Point Road, Eagle Point Drive, and Hayes Drive.
