On January 7th fire destroyed a home on Rita Drive at Clark Lake. Today, Harry and Jill Liogghio are smiling as the construction of a new home on the same footprint goes forward.
The fire started in the chimney of a wood burning stove. Columbia and Liberty Township crews received the call just before noon and arrived to find fire consuming a large section of the roof. Firefighters, equipped with a tanker, quenched the flames with water. The good news? No injuries. But the damage was severe, and replacing the structure was necessary.
Below are photos taken on the day of the fire compared to new construction today:

Harry and Jill with today’s smiles. There will be even more smiles when they are able to move in when construction is completed in mid-July.
Fire was sad, but the rebuild is so beautiful it takes away the sadness, I’m so proud of my son and daughter in-law for just being who they are together! Great job👍
