Look for new signs to go up to map the route of the Clark Lake Spirit Trail as it meanders around the lake. The signs, expected to be on the Trail by Memorial Day, will be in the form of arrows.  A sign with a white background will indicate the direction if going in a clockwise direction around the lake; and a yellow background, counterclockwise.   The signs are steel and should help bikers, runners and walkers navigate the Trail for many years to come.

This project is one of many of the Clark Lake Spirit Trail Committee.  This group is dedicated to the maintenance and improvement of the Spirit Trail.  Two major recent projects include a thorough rebuilding of the Trail section adjacent to the U.S. Post Office at the west end, and the building of an entirely new section between Rita and Grand Boulevard at the east end.

Each year, volunteers gather for clean up projects to keep the path clear of debris as well as improving the gardens and landscaping that accompany some areas.

The building, maintenance and improvements are accomplished by volunteers and through private fundraising.  No tax money has ever been spent on the Trail; it is entirely a grass-roots, community effort.

You can make a tax-advantaged donation to the Spirt Trail through the Clark Lake Spirit Foundation either by mail (PO Box 224, Clarklake, MI 49234) or via credit card on this website.
