It happened today, at least for a while. The respite came courtesy of an immature eagle. The young eagle was positioned on the ice midway between Consumers and the Yacht Club. John Deming theorized that it was looking to make a meal out of a vulnerable goose or duck. After sitting on the ice for a few minutes, the eagle took off for the other end of the lake. Those living at the west end of the lake know that there are a seemingly unlimited number of geese hanging out near a couple of large open spots. But as the eagle made its way in that direction, the geese (and ducks) apparently were not interested in becoming brunch and took flight. At least temporarily, the geese disappeared.
