Clark Lake’s Big Weekend was all the bigger last night (Sat 8/5). Freedom Fireworks shook the lake and filled the sky with an unbelievable array of colors and designs. Thanks to Ralph Mahalak Jr., his family, and friends for treating Clark Lake to this awesome display.
The fireworks display at Clark Lake would be hard to replicate at more typical locations. The design that fireworks create is reflected on the water, creating a magical quality. Ripples become shimmers of light in the darkness. Boat lifts, sailboat masts, rafts and docks take on an enchantment. The thunderous blasts reverberates across the water, intensifying the effect. Fireworks like these should be seen and felt in person. These photos hint at last night’s reality.
