Rain over the weekend eroded a portion of the newly paved Eagle Point Drive. The erosion caused part of the north side of the road to cave in. Jackson County Department of Transportation crews worked on restoring the road this afternoon (Monday 7/18).
JCDOT first removed the excess dirt and and gravel.
Next they laid fabric over along the north side of the road. The fabric breaths in order to let water soak in and to prevent erosion. The next step is to add limestone on top of it to keep in place.
Recent rains caused dirt to accumulate as you can see in this photo.
A second layer of asphalt will be applied to finish the road surface. Click here for more.
