The Clark Lake Community Center is opening its doors for Fall Wine Tasting on Thursday, October 8th.  The event features wine and snacks along with a take-home commemorative Clark Lake wine glass.

This is a fundraiser for the Community Center–$40 per person.  There are a limited number of tickets.  To purchase, contact Diane Deming (jcdcl@comcast.net) or Sandy Petykiewicz (sandypetykiewicz@gmail.com).

The Community Center has its roots in Clark Lake’s storied past.  At one time, the structure that is now the Community Center, was originally a cottage built in 1898-9 by the Graziani family.   You can read the full story here. The cottage stood for many years on Kentucky Point.  In the 1990s, through a huge community effort, the cottage was moved onto a barge, floated to the east end of the lake and placed at its current location in the County Park.  Then a major restoration process began. This piece of Clark Lake history was not only preserved, but now serves the practical purpose of hosting events.  Ongoing maintenance and improvements require lots of work of the volunteers, and of course, financial support.
