The day was cloudy and gray. It didn’t seem to offer much at a place that is known for its visual gifts. As daylight departed, however, there was a reminder that underneath all that cloudy cover was an impressive display that momentarily was no longer hidden. Though not as spectacular as some of the dramatic sunsets over the summer, tonight’s color palate was a treat for those who were quick enough to catch its brief presence in the southwest sky.
