The Buccaneer National Championship starts this morning (Fri 9/16) at about 10:30.  Yesterday afternoon, sailors gave Clark Lake a preview of what’s ahead.  More than 20 Buccaneers go for the win.  With the right wind, the race will take place not only on the east end, but west end of Clark Lake.  What did yesterday’s practice race look like?

The competitors are from all over–places like Virginia, Wisconsin, Kansas, Colorado, New York, Oregon and Canada.  The farthest location from Clark Lake?  Alaska.

Starting Saturday afternoon, the Buccaneers stick around and do battle with boats from other classes–Rebels, Wayfarers and Sunfishes.  The annual Clark Lake Yacht Club Fall Regatta continues through Sunday morning.
