A winged visitor to Clark Lake would not be unusual, considering visitants like ducks, geese, and swans. Today was different. The winged visitor was a seaplane that arrived about 2:30 pm and left about 20 minutes later. Watch it initiate its takeoff from the west end, heading toward Kentucky Point in this slide show.
FAA records say the plane is owned by Barla Joel of Eaton Rapids. The aircraft was manufactured by Lake in 1971. As you can see in the photos, the propeller points aft, rather than pulling air over the front of the aircraft.
It did several touch n goes, not just one, ( maybe 6 or 7) And then in the afternoon, the yellow sea plane that we usually see, was checking out the lake too.
Cool!! Always love seeing the seaplanes!
Dr. Lewis flew his seaplane to work. Seeing it on its buoy in front of his cottage is a sight I’ll always appreciate about Clark Lake.
Love the see the seaplanes. I was standing on my dock when he took off.
