A semi with an empty flatbed trailer attempting to pull out of the St. Rita’s parking lot this morning (Thurs 4/16) became stuck on the southbound shoulder of Hayes Drive.

The driver, identified as Charles Flagg of Ohio, was not injured in the incident.

Columbia Charter Township police responded to the scene to monitor traffic and ensure safety while the situation was addressed. The truck had become lodged in the soft shoulder, which had been weakened by recent rainfall.

Phelps Towing successfully removed the vehicle from the shoulder, allowing traffic to return to normal.
