The break in the weather timed almost perfectly with Raft-O-Rama’s first 2025 meeting.  Because it’s Clark Lake’s biggest party, the planning starts early and is pursued right through Raft-O-Rama Sunday.  This year the event takes place on August 3rd.

One of the most sought after trophies is the People’s Choice Award.  The committee voted to rename the award in remembrance of Lynn Vermeulen who passed away on his 80th birthday, September 5, 2024.  Going forward and forever more, it will be known as the Lynn Vermeulen People’s Choice Award.

Lynn Vermeulen impact on Clark Lake will not be forgotten.  His water skiing victories put Clark Lake on the worldwide map. Not only did he crush it on the slalom course, but his trick run was second to none.  Upon hearing about the naming of the award, Nate Vermeulen, Lynn’s son, commented “That’s quite an honor.  Clark Lake was such a big part of his life, and the family is grateful to know his name will be kept alive in this way.  We’re looking forward to Raft-O-Rama!”

Along with his other athletic accomplishments, Lynn supported the community in many ways, including Raft-O-Rama.  Read more about Lynn by clicking here.

Sports was the 2024 Raft-O-Rama theme.  The People’s Choice Award went to these volleyball players.

In addition to People’s Choice, Raft-O-Rama bestows other awards.  Check out the 2024 results by clicking here.
