Kids Triathlon is a fun event is for ages up to 14.  Kids compete in running, biking, and swimming.  It happens Saturday, July 27th, at 10 am at the Clark Lake Yacht Club with registration at 9 am.  Preview the action from this 2023 video.  Dan Omo, who conducts the event, lays out the details.

The Triathlon is totally free and will consist of a 100 meter swim, a half-mile bike ride, and a quarter-mile run (varies for the younger group).  There will be 2 ages groups: 9 to 14, and 8 and under, with awards for each.  All participants are required to wear a helmet during the biking and a life jacket during the swim regardless of skill level.  Top 3 in each categories win medallions.  All participants will go home with a patch.

The Kayak Competition follows the Triathlon – 11 am for adults, followed by the kids.  Kids, 8 to 18, can use a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard.  As with the Triathlon, registration opens at 9 am.  All racers are required to wear a life jacket during the event.  Some kayaks will be available for those kids who do not have one.  If you have a kayak, are you willing to loan it for use at the event?  Contact Dan Omo at 937-0424 or domodan@gmail.com.

Here are the results from the 2023 competition.

An event like this doesn’t happen on its own.  It took the collaboration of Raft-O-Rama, the Clark Lake Yacht Club, and a few more volunteers to put it together.  They were happy to help as you can see by the smiles.
