A sudden sound of a crash Sunday evening startled those who heard it.  The loud noise drew attention to the North Shore, west end.  What witnesses saw was the aftermath of a collision.  From their vantage point near the Hyde Road shore, Todd and Beth Snay, and friend Stephen Rockwell, saw two jet skis floating, and what looked like three people in the water.  Todd, Beth, and Stephen boarded a raft and headed toward the accident site.    Once arriving, they found two people, a man and woman, who had been on the jet skis.  The third person turned out to be debris floating in the water from one of the jet skis.

The group believed the two appeared to be injured.  Beth offered to call 911, but the two asked them not to.  The two were able to get onto the jet ski that was still operable.  Stephen jumped into the water and collected the crash debris.  Then, the rescue team attached a line to the disabled jet ski to tow it, and followed the two on the jet ski to where they were staying, Eagle Point Road, west end.

Upon dropping off the jet ski, Todd, Beth and Stephen were about to turnaround and return home. That’s when they had trouble of their own.  The motor wouldn’t start.  So a second rescue was necessary.  They called C.J. Cox.  She and Chris Grajek arrived at the scene and towed the raft back to its mooring near Hyde Road.
