Clark Lake’s Big Weekend is arriving soon on August 3rd and 4th.  It starts with Run Clark Lake Saturday morning, Freedom Fireworks Saturday evening, and Raft-O-Rama on Sunday.

The theme for Raft-O-Rama is SPORTS which opens up a stadium full of creative ideas.  Projects are already underway at the lake.  An often essential building material is cardboard.  It’s available at Dan Omo’s garage at 96 Hyde Road – Mon-Fri 4 pm to 9 pm, and Sat 9 am – 9 pm.  The cardboard is provided free of charge courtesy of Opus Packaging,  2400 E. High St., Jackson.

Event T-shirts are on sale at Doyle’s for $16.

Raft-O-Rama fun continues after the Sunday morning parade at Eagle Point when Clark Lakers vote for the Peoples Choice award.  Also part of the fun is live music from Act III, a DJ, and  all the elements that make a great party like Lions Club chicken dinners, balloons, face painter and silent auction to name a few.

Fireworks reflecting Clark Lake’s on waters create a design of magical quality.  Ripples become shimmers of light in the darkness. Boat lifts, sailboat masts, rafts and docks take on a vision of enchantment.  The thunderous blasts reverberates across the water, intensifying the effect. The Mahalak family puts the not-to-be-missed Freedom Fireworks each year on Saturday evening of the Big Weekend.  If you wish to grow Freedom Fireworks, write a check to Starfire Corporation in care of Ralph Jr., 6378 North Shore.

These professional fireworks will be produced and staged on a barge by Starfire Corporation.
