Katie Williams started baking sourdough a few years ago. “I realized there was no place around here to get fresh-baked bread.” She thought there might be an interest and “it took off.”
Katie asked her husband to build a farm stand – she will give you a tour in the video. That led to offering eggs on Saturday mornings. Also in the video, you’ll also hear they have replenished the supply of chickens. “They free-range and usually the dogs protect them…”. But a fox found a moment when the dogs weren’t present which diminished the population.
Katie has three daughters which she says influenced choosing the name “Hen Hut.” They are home-schooled and also devote time to craft items. Those can be found for purchase in the Hen Hut.
You’ll know when the Hen Hut is open – the sign tell the story.
The Hen Hut is located at the intersection of Jefferson Road and Lakeview West.
Pat’s favorite little store in Clark Lake. We love her sourdough bread!!!
