A noted Grand Rapids attorney who specializes in property issues at Michigan lakes tackles a list of what he calls “myths.” He presents what people believe to be a law or rule at lakes, and then explains the correct legal answer, quoting laws and court cases.
Here are a couple of examples. Do you have the right to walk the shoreline around the lake without regard to the rights of property owners? Or can anyone permanently moor a boat in front of a lakefront property without the property owner’s permission?
