The Zombies made their appearance

The Zombies made their appearance last year

Participants are preparing for tomorrow’s Polar Plunge (Saturday, 1/30) into the icy waters of Clark Lake.  The forecast suggests temperatures will be around 35 degrees, winds from the SSW at 14 mph, under cloudy skies.  Not ideal weather for a swim?  Apparently those anxious to show their polar prowess don’t think so.  So far, the Polar Plunge website shows 119 supporters, 22 teams and 428 donations, totaling over $14,000 so far.  The Plunge at Clark Lake is one of 29 taking place around Michigan. Polar Plunges are a Law Enforcement Torch Run event and are fundraisers for Special Olympics.

The event takes place at Eagle Point.  Registration starts at 8:30 am, parade of costumes at 10 am, and the plunging begins at 10:15 am.  The awards ceremony and “After Splash Bash” begins immediately following the last jump at the Pointe Bar and Grill.

For an update, come back to this website tomorrow after the event.
