Scott Vitale hopes to create a venue near Clark Lake featuring the Country Boots & Bands brand. Operating as Raine Productions, the organization has put on shows in surrounding townships including Summit, Napoleon and Blackman. The one-day music concerts could eventually attract up to 5,000 to the proposed venue, although their current application limits the number to 2,000. Doors would open at 6 pm with performances from 7 pm – 10:30 pm.
The proposed location is near Industrial Drive, adjacent to US 127. Sixteen acres would be devoted to the venue. Ten of those 16 acres would be set aside for parking.
By ordinance, Columbia Township trustees would be required to vote on approval. To review more of the proposal as made to the Township, please click here.
Scott Vitale explained his plans to the board. Trustee of Mike Trout of Clark Lake, offered a cautionary note.
No for me! Will local residents have an opportunity to weigh in?
Would this venue create more traffic lights on rt.127, reduce the speed limit and cause congestion on an already busy highway?
What about sewage near a high water table?
Is this one of those “standing room only” venues? If so, I’ll never attend.
Hmmm, noise , crowds, traffic , alchol, and an increased need of policing, nah, cannot see any upside !
We already have Faster Horses and venue opportunities at MIS. Coordinate with them. We are already overgrown for our small CLARKLAKE/Columbia/Brooklyn community, and do not need more congestion.
