Clark Lake Yacht Club Sunday sailboat races begin Saturday.  The purpose of the Saturday run-through is to ensure everyone understands the rules and protocols.  The Club welcomes non-members to participate in the races.  They also encourage all sailors, members or non-members, to support one race per season.  Interested?  Reach out to Pat O’Harris at tuffyohair@gmail.com.

All races are held on Sunday, except this Saturday (5/25), and Saturday 3rd because Raft-O-Rama is on Sunday, August 4th.  The last race will be held on August 25th.   Below is the race-day schedule:

12:15 pm  – Arrive and prep
12:04 pm – Volunteer briefing
12:50 pm – Racer’s briefing
1 pm – 30 min horn
1:30 pm – Start race

If you ever have wondered what it’s like to sail, the Yacht Club wants has a sample.  On June 1st, 11 am – 3 pm, they invite you to enjoy a sailboat ride.  Next, they offer a Learn to Sail program that begins the following weekend.  They ask you to bring a life jacket, and to register in advance.  Click here for the form.

And for more on Learn to Sail, please click here. Here’s a video (recorded in 2021) that shares the experience.
