Tucker longboards

Tucker playing the longboards

After 20 years on the Raft-O-Rama committee, many of those years as co-chairman, Tucker Boyers is retiring from the group.  According to Tucker, he still intends to enter the annual competition and otherwise stay involved in the community.

The committee is recognizing Tucker’s endless contributions.  The members voted unanimously to change the name for the Overall Youth Award to the R. Tucker Boyers Youth Award.  This is an annual traveling award on which each year’s winner will be identified on the plaque attached to it.  The trophy will be known as The Tucker Cup.

Anyone who has been around the lake for awhile quickly becomes aware of the positive influence Tucker has had in the Clark Lake community. His involvement has taken many forms.  Recently he and others on the Spirit Trail Committee worked hard on the extension between Rita and Grand Boulevard as well as the reconstruction project adjacent to the post office.  He is a founding member and has competed in the Longboard (shuffleboard) league for 23 years. Tucker is also one of the ten directors of the Clark Lake Spirit Foundation.

No doubt many will offer congratulations to Tucker.
