A favorite Clark Lake restaurant is opening its second location in Summit Township.  Owner Blair Huff announces Lucero’s Mexican Bar & Grill 2 plans to welcome guests near the end of January.  Meanwhile, work continues on restructuring the building formerly known as the Steak Eatery near 127 and M-50.  Close to Klavon’s, the new Lucero’s offers another dining option by extending the northern reach of this popular Clark Lake restaurant.

When it opened on August 23, 2017, Lucero’s was a big hit at Clark Lake.  That success amazed those who had seen every past endeavor at that location fail.  Lucero’s initial popularity has never waned.  Quiz patrons table-to-table, and you’ll find Lucero’s has been a destination for people from as far away as 90 miles.

How will Lucero’s Jackson be different?  Blair says the building will accommodate more guests. “We’re looking forward to people enjoying a new patio during warm weather.  The landscaping and decor will create a setting that transports you to a place you’ll love.”  What else?  “In addition to more space inside that includes an impressive new bar, we’re creating a drive through for to-go orders.  It will be well organized and user friendly.”  Blair adds that guests will see the same winning menu as the Clark Lake Lucero’s. “And both locations will be enhanced with 10 new menu items that should be crowd-pleasers.”

The hours will be the same as Lucero’s at Clark Lake:  Monday – Saturday 11 am – 9 pm, Sunday 12 noon – 8 pm.

Does the new Lucero’s mean less emphasis on Clark Lake?  Blair says, “no, not at all.  The new restaurant will actually improve our infrastructure and ability to serve the public at both locations.”  Blair says that includes his other restaurant, the Eagle’s Nest Bar & Grill.  “The Eagle’s Nest is an awesome destination because of its beautiful lakeside setting.  We hear that all the time.  And we plan to continue to present events and specials.”

A coming attraction in December, says Blair, are “free pancakes for kids up to 12 during Sunday Brunch 10 am – 1:30 pm, one kid per adult.”  He also says the Eagle’s Nest is available for Christmas parties.  “Check in with us now, the calendar is filling up fast.”

Blair and his team are hiring staff for the new location for all positions – servers, cooks, hosts, bartenders, bussers, and managers.  Blair recommends applicants visit the Lucero’s website (click here) to learn more about the restaurant.  Email applications to lucerosgrill@gmail.com.

The evening before the Eagle’s Nest opened officially, Blair previewed the new restaurant.  Were you there?
