Not every natural encounter is a good one.  This is particularly true of raccoons that could have rabies, mange, or some other nasty ailment.  Today, Will Stewart trapped a sick racoon.  It displayed symptoms of hair loss, frothing, and other unnatural behavior. The racoon was captured in a marshy area near Eagle Point Drive and Hayes Drive.

When rabies is afoot, monitoring the activity of your pets becomes more of a concern.  Here’s what the Michigan DNR has to say about rabies.

This racoon was euthanized.
