The August morning was partly cloudy and a cool.  That made for great running weather for the 811 participants who converged upon the Clark Lake Spirit Trail for the annual event.  The 12k course record held by 5 seconds (Emmanuel Korir).  For complete finish results, click here.  But don’t miss the many photos below.

Run Clark Lake consists of these events–12k, 5k, 5k Walk, and Kids Run.  To see the course map, click here.

What follows are photos taken today at the event, starting with the warmup at the Beach Bar before the start of the race.

Next–views of the start of the 12k race.

Following the start of the 12k, the 5k participants started on their course.

All participants, but the kids,  merge in the area of Consumers Drive and Grand Blvd.  These photos were taken at that location.

Both the start and finish are on Ocean Beach Road in front of the Beach Bar.  Here are some of the finishers.

Each participant’s bib not only displayed a number, but also contained a chip.  The timing system at the end of the race detected the presence of the chip that enable the documenting of accurate scoring.

The last event of the day was the Kid’s Run.
