When it comes to taking things out of the water, some at the lake don’t wish to rush things.  So, to record the level of procrastination, C.J. Cox assembles a crew for the November Boat Count each year.  On one of the last raft rides of the year, the challenge is to see what boats, docks, dock parts, lifts are still in the water.

The crew, L to R, starting at the bow: Jessica Roberts, C. J. Cox, Stephen Rockwell, Andrea Rebbeck, Diana Smarch, Cindy Naegele

This year, the count took place on Monday, November 15.  That’s a bit later than last year’s count on November 10th.  The weather was slightly more welcoming – 56 degrees and moderate wind compared to 2023 when it was windy and the temperature was 6 degrees colder.  They left the dock at 12:15 pm and returned 45 minutes later.

Here are the results.

On July 4th, another crew counts boats, starting at 6 am.  Click here to review the 2024 Boat Count that calculated total boats at 1,505.
