As of 9 am Sunday, North Lake Road between Pleasant View and Kentucky Avenue is blocked.  A mighty oak split close to its base.  A massive part of the tree is hanging over the road, posing a potential hazard. Police Chief Jay Niles said “JDOT responded and determined it was not safe to move it as it is wedged against other trees.”

The chief adds a tree cutting crew will be out on Monday to remove the tree safely so the road can be reopened.
