A signing ceremony took place this morning on Clark Lake’s North Shore. With pen in hand was Ralph Mahalak Jr., inscribing a contract and writing a check to Jim Cole of the Jackson County Department of Transportation. The result? Greatly improved roads are ahead on much of the North Shore. Ralph Jr. explains in this video.
The work will be done by Reith Riley on these sections of roads:
- 5500 to 7807 North Shore
- 7875 to 8100 North Shore (work to be done in the fall)
- F Lane
- Pleasant View
- Kentucky Avenue
At the signing today were these North Shore Road Heroes
Jim Cole (JCDOT) with Clark Lake’s Henry Lindeman, Joan and Ralph Mahalak, Chris White
Last summer, Henry Lindeman and residents had an 800 foot section of North Shore Drive paved in a similar manner. Neighbors pitched in to cover the cost, and the Jackson County Department of Transportation arranged for the work to be done. Click here to experience the smooth ride on this section.
Another Clark Lake road improvement took place on Eagle Point Drive in October 2022, but financing was handled in a different manner. A special assessment district (SAD) was established, and residents paid for the work through property taxes.
Thank You to a great group always working to make Clark Lake a better place.
THANK S
That’s the way it ought to be done. No wasted money on S&P ratings and long term bonds.
Ok- who steps up to fund Eagle Point between Jefferson and Lakeview….? Anybody? Anybody?
Thank you for heading this up. Smooth roads will be so nice.
