A Clark Lake icon has passed away. Ann Swain died peacefully in her Clark Lake home on August 28, 2024.
Ann’s involvement at Clark Lake was far and wide. Many recall she was instrumental with the original construction of the Spirit Trail and stayed with its development through the years. But it didn’t stop there. She was the treasurer of Clark Lake Spirit, and formerly served as a director and treasurer of the Clark Lake Spirit Foundation. Ann Swain meant much to this community. Her Clark Lake story is an important one and deserves to be told, as it will be soon.
Arrangements are not complete, but will be shared when they become available.
So very sorry to hear this. Her morning sunrise pictures on FB were the beginning of my day. Looking forward to her Clark Lake story. Down side of getting old is losing friends. May Ann rest in peace and rise in glory.
I’m shocked and saddened. For some reason I felt she was invincible. I’ll miss seeing her sunrise pictures of Clarklake on Facebook, along with also knowing how the weather was. I’ll miss you neighbor, first from the Turk and Hewitt house, then Hyde Rd. Rest in Peace Mrs. Swain.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ann many years ago when she worked at the party store on Ocean Beach. Even as a young man I could tell there was something special about her, and Clark Lake was part of her heart. May the angels welcome her to paradise.
This is such sad news. She will be dearly missed.
Sad news. I ran into Ann last week. She was always so sweet. I told her how much I enjoyed her sunrise pics of Clark Lake. Very inspiring woman!!
She was a wonderful woman and she will be missed by so many.
A true Clark Laker! She was very inspirational in making the Spirit Trail come to life.
I was to meet with Ann last night at the Community Center to look for some Spirit Trail documents that were recently moved from her basement to the Community Center attic.
I was slightly perturbed that she did not show up. Anne always showed up, I figured the storm was keeping her home. Little did I know that that storm was carrying her home.
My God Bless you Anne, thanks for always having time for me and showing me what it truly means to be a genuine Clark Laker!
My heart breaks, she was a wonderful friend for many years. May she reast in peace. J
