Independence Day is fast approaching. Once again the Raft-O-Rama team has crafted hundreds of luminaries for display along Clark Lake’s shoreline. Imagine the glow as these candles illuminate Clark Lake on the evening of Thursday, July 4th.
This Clark Laker bought three bags
Krissy Hull is handing out luminaries until 1 pm today (Sat 6/22) at the old Mugsy’s store on Ocean Beach Road. Just stop by, say hi to Krissy, give her the $15 donation, and she’ll get you set up to join the many others at Clark Lake who are doing likewise. The luminaries are in demand. About a half-hour ago, Karen Menard went to replenish supplies.
Also today, other members of the Raft-O-Rama crew are going door-to-door. That knock on the door could mean a delivery direct to you.Dotty and John Karkheck were going door-to-door on North Shore when this photo was taken.
The luminaries come in a handy Clark Lake tote bags that are branded with the names of sponsors who help defray costs. Inside are ten specially designed paper sacks. For stability, they have been loaded with sand. On top of the sand is the small candle to be lighted on July 4th. Every year, it seems more Clark Lakers place them along shorelines creating a magical effect. The candles usually burn through the night.
