Seeing familiar faces when walking into a grocery store is not unusual.  But seeing a smile behind the counter that you remember from elsewhere could be a surprise.  Judi Kelly is now helping customers at Country Market.

When this website last reported on Judi, she was handing over the keys to Doyle’s Market to Carol Hunt and Lori Giorgi.   After closing the door one last time in March, she said she and her husband, Mark, would be heading somewhere warm.  So, how did it happen that Judi, still a Clark Lake resident, now works in Brooklyn at Country Market?  “I enjoyed the summer at the lake and loved being outside.  When fall came, I really missed seeing people.  That brought me here.”  Judi says she sees many Clark Lake friends at her new post. “And the people at Country Market are wonderful.”

Anyone who has run a business understands what it involves.  Judi acknowledges it’s a “24-7 responsibility.”  She adds “I enjoy being behind the counter, and I feel at home at Country Market.”

This photo was taken on Judi’s last day at Doyle’s.  During her years at Doyle’s, customers would usually pet Clark.  The friendly lab, who passed away not too long ago, is still remembered.  One customer created this remembrance.

Meanwhile, Doyle’s new owners, Carol and Lori, say how much they enjoy customer visits to the store.
