Columbia Township Police arrested a Hudson man on drugs and weapons violations in nearby Cement City.  Here is their report:

On February 18th, 2023, Officers from the Columbia Township Police Department were patrolling the area of Jackson St and Cary Rd in the Village of Cement City. While doing so the officer witnessed a vehicle engaging in a violation of the motor vehicle code and conducted a traffic stop on this same vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were both investigated. The passenger of the vehicle identified as 34-year-old Todie J. Phillips of Hudson Michigan had numerous outstanding arrest warrants from various agencies. The vehicle was also searched and located within the vehicle was a loaded Ruger 9mm handgun and methamphetamine.

As a result of evidence collected and interviews of those involved Todie J. Phillips was lodged at the Lenawee County Jail.  On February 19th, 2023, a police report was forwarded to the Lenawee County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review of criminal charges. Upon completion of the review of the police report Todie J. Phillips was charged with the following:

Count 1:
Controlled Substance – Possession of Methamphetamine, a felony punishable up to 10 years in prison.

Count 2: Weapons – Carrying Concealed, a felony punishable up to 5 years in prison and mandatory forfeiture of the weapon.

Phillips was brought before the 2A District Court of Lenawee County for arraignment and remains in the Lenawee County Jail held on $20,000 cash/surety bond in conjunction for the before mentioned criminal charges.
