This “smoothie” is all about the new paving at Doyle’s Market.  Gone are the potholes, and in its place, asphalt that is flat as a pancake.  Owners Carol Hunt and Lori Giorgi pose for the photo-op.

Carol and Lori have found that running a business has its expenses.  This repaving is one of them.  How much? Carol says almost $9K.

How these two came to own Doyle’s Market seems serendipitous.  The story begins when they were in the same kindergarten class at Haigh Elementary in Dearborn.  That’s when they made a pact that someday they would go into business together.  Kids have dreams that come and go.  For Carol and Lori, the idea never left them.  So, when they saw that Doyle’s was for sale, that piqued their interest.  They had been customers and got to know former owner Judi Kelly.

How is it going?  Carol and Lori are enjoying the experience and especially appreciate the friendliness of customers.  But they point to the learning curve – determining the specific needs of customers and finding the right vendors to supply them.  They were also surprised by the break-in (click here to read about that).  But are they living the dream?  Apparently so.

Carol and Lori’s other half’s have also been part of the team.  This photo was taken in August at the time this website reported on Carol and Lori’s new adventure.

Doyle’s is open 9 am – 8 pm Monday through Saturday, and 9 am – 6 pm on Sunday.   They will be closed on Thanksgiving, also Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  On New Years Eve, they will be open 9 am to 5 pm, and closed on New Years Day.
