Seventy-two walkers joined together to support the 2016 Crop Walk that took place Sunday on the Clark Lake Spirit Trail.  Because of the event, the Brooklyn Food Pantry received 1402 canned goods.  $8,310 was raised according to coordinator Jeannie Hitchcock.  Cash donations went to either the Catholic Relief Service or Church World Service, as designated by the donor.

The event was hosted by St. Rita Catholic Church and had the participation of several other churches–All Saints Episcopal, Brooklyn Presbyterian, Napoleon United Methodist, and Springville United Methodist.  Also pitching in was the Columbia High School Leadership group.

Walkers had the choice of two routes.  One of them (pictured above) took them on the entire 7.4 miles of the Spirit Trail around the lake.  A shorter route had walkers going through the Magic Forest to the Community Center and back to the St. Rita’s.
