Columbia Charter Township Police report a personal injury accident on M-50 and Brooklyn Farms Road around 10 pm Saturday (6/8). They say two vehicles struck each other nearly head on. A Dodge Avenger occupied by 25-year-old Tiffany L. Gillespie of Adrian, 24-year-old Keith R. Jackson of Adrian, and a 1-year-old child were traveling north on M-50 Hwy when a south bound Jeep operated by 52-year-old Scott A. Siekierda of Manitou Beach left the lane and struck the Dodge Avenger. All the occupants of both vehicles were transported to Henry Ford Health, Jackson by Jackson Community Ambulance with non-life threatening injures.
The occupants were wearing their seat belts and proper restraint systems were in use. Police comment airbag deployment saved all from catastrophic injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and police note alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in this crash. Columbia Charter Township Fire Department as well as the Napoleon Township Police Department assisted at the scene of the crash.
