With lots of sunshine and spring in the air, energetic volunteers cleaned up the Clark Lake Spirit Trail this morning (Saturday 3/26).  The group met at the County Park at the east end.  Others spread out to other locations around the lake.

The Trail cleanup is an annual event.  After winter departs Michigan, it leaves behind nature’s undesirable artifacts–and the Trail doesn’t escape unscathed.

It’s a testament to Clark Lake’s community spirit that the Trail gets this kind of care.  The construction, ongoing improvements and maintenance of the Trail are all evidence of the Clark Lake Spirit.

Thanks are in order to the many volunteers and to Dan Omo, a member of the Trail committee who organized today’s event.  Jessica Tucker put down her rake long enough to capture some of the action for the website.  For best results, click on the first photo, then place your mouse over the right edge and click to advance to the next photo.

Last Saturday (3/19), Mike Jones, Don Fowler and Tucker Boyers chain sawed a tree that had fallen across the Magic Forest section of the Trail that runs between Jefferson Road and Lakeview East.  To view photos and read the story of this event and some other Trail news, click here.
